Dandan Liu was born in 1990 in Zhengzhou, China. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2014 with a focus on painting and drawing. She pursued her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in painting. Liu works predominantly in the medium of large-scale paper installation and video performance. Influenced by contemporary Internet culture, her work talks about how young women create identities through social medias and online platforms.
